Artist's Comments

The first school assignment for lighting to put up on the net. This was for the "Sillhouette" assignment given out a couple of weeks ago. The idea was to light up a white background and with the theme of "music" capture sillhouettes. Freedom in poses, props and framing.

I shot Rachel with a cut out of a gramophone. She wasn't feeling to great that day so I only got about 8 shots in all. One of which was perfect. The frame [rebate like] was added in the darkroom using close by supplies. In this instance an Xacto knife and some magazine.

Ilford's 5.0 contrast filter was used to remove detail.
Film was Ilford Hp5 400 for 120 overdeveloped to increase contrast.

Input would be appreciated.
